Who is this for and what have you learned about people's financial literacy over the years doing this?
12:17
Well, the first motive, I have to be honest, was more selfish because I wanted freedom.
12:24
I love traveling.
12:25
I've got a few hobbies.
12:27
I'm an avid golfer.
12:29
I am not going pro anytime soon, but I love the game.
12:34
I love outdoors.

19:55
What do you think about that situation?
3:24
So Mr. Sean, sir, you have the floor, my friend.
3:26
Try to keep it to about two minutes here, but yeah, my back.
3:30
No, no, two minutes.
3:30
Okay.
3:31
Sure.
3:31
Sure.
3:32
My background is about 20 years in tech.

10:38
And so you, I'm going to be honest, you kind of answered this question, but I still want to ask it because maybe something else comes to mind, right? And so I would love to know what's one operational thing you've put into place, let's say the last two years that has really maybe changed the way you do business or kind of just built on the success of the business.
9:13
When you said it, I was kind of going through my mental Rolodex trying to remember where I heard that.
9:20
He is actually part of the inspiration for Ticker because in his books, Rule 1 is one of the books.
9:25
The other one is Payback Time.
9:28
Rule 1 and Payback Time.
9:29
He provided some of the calculus that went into Ticker.
9:32
Of course, I took it a step further and added the gamification, added a little more rigor to it, a few more things I look at.
9:40
But Yeah, looking at what he was doing, there is a framework he uses called the four M's.
14:14
But now seeing this information coming through your platform so closely, is there any thing or belief about investing that has changed now over the last number of years?
3:45
What's the timeline on that? How, how did you first get started?
3:49
So the journey kinda started actually around 2006, um, just out of school, and I wanted to be an entrepreneur, so I started a service business building software, um, and websites for small and mid-sized businesses.
4:06
Did that for four years, and that was a big lesson learned that that is not a scalable business model.
4:12
Now, in 2010, went through a merger.
4:15
There was no million-dollar check written like, "Hey, we're gonna buy your business." It was, it was really just wiping out the debts and liabilities, um, so it was a fresh start.
4:25
And at that point I'm like, "Okay, I'm gonna create a different business.
4:30
I need a business that instead of me working for money, money is working for me." Um, so d- and with that model, I love SaaS.

22 MINS LATER

26:21
So how do you see that and how it's affecting investors, and how does your platform help people adjust to that?
15:07
Okay
15:07
...
15:08
so per month.
15:09
Um, so now how do we bring people in? Well, SEO is the long game.
15:12
I started that from the beginning.
15:14
I've got a lot of experience there, plus friends who have agencies that focus on SEO.
15:18
So we have like 300-plus articles on our site about investing and, and we do reviews of stocks and all that kind of stuff.
17:16
Like how, how has AI over the last two or three years kind of really changed your product? Did that dramatically help get it to be what you want it to be, or did it just add some cute features?
9:57
Is the traffic light system meant for all individual investors? Is it meant for maybe people who are only looking for long-term investments, people who are only trying to make short-term trades, somewhere in between or all of them at once?
10:08
Yeah.
10:09
So we are focused on value investing.
10:13
However, we really have a few use cases here and how people use Ticker.
10:17
The great majority of people that use Ticker are investors.
10:20
And we teach people, there's an article like for context, when you join Ticker, you get a new investing tip over like 30 days.
10:27
Now you don't have to wait all 30 days.

13 MINS LATER

23:27
yeah
1:14
I
1:14
was going to say, absolutely.
1:15
And I can give you a perspective on my journey from beginner going to, as we phrase it at Ticker, going from beginner to confident investor.
1:24
Should I start there? Perfect.
1:25
That sounds like a great place.
1:27
Okay.
1:28
And so, yeah, my my background is about and I'll keep this about to the two or three minutes or so, but my background is about 20 years in tech.

8 MINS LATER

9:12
And the question I'm going to ask you is how do you find good stocks?
