Mm.

And actually, the kinda act of saving is an important outcome in and of itself.
4:31
Obviously, there's times in your life when you do wanna be saving for something, whether it's a, a wedding or a holiday or a deposit for a house, and I think I've been guilty of this as well, is that you, you get to that goal, and then you kind of stop, and actually, you lose all of the, all the brilliant kinda power of the compounding that you would otherwise get.
4:48
So I think one of the things that the book really encourages you to do, and, and something that I've taken away is, well, actually, if you can, you, you really should continue to save, not necessarily for something specific, but just because it is in and of itself a really valuable thing to do.

So what drew you to this book?
12:45
On one level, this is a really practical book that provides lots of different examples and exercises that you can go through and frameworks to, to create habits.
12:54
On the other hand, and what re-drew me in, was the bigger picture piece around it, which is the early kinda chapters and, for me, the real kinda thrust of the book was that it's actually more about identity a-and about who you are and who you want to become as a person, as opposed to the different things that maybe you want to do.

To kinda use an example, James Clear talks a bit about if you're going to the gym, often people say, and it'll be a classic New Year's re-resolution, "Oh, I wanna go to the gym three, three days a week," let's say.
