This is a short film about a wall.

More importantly, it's about the people who live on either side of that wall.

It's also a film about a girl who lived on both sides.

A girl whose life dispels many stereotypes around our own identity and how we are perceived by the other.

In many ways, her story has enriched much of what I know about the past, and more importantly, the futility of the hurt and trauma that's been caused between both communities.

Almost 100 years since the partition of Ireland and 50 years since the breakout of the conflict in 1969, I explore how far we have come as a society and ask, will we ever see our walls coming down? My granny Margaret was born on the Shankill Road in 1908.

So talk about your film and why you chose to call it Jurnicide.

Well, I think journalist aid effectively gives the explicit nature of the targeting and killing of journalists.

I think it fits perfectly.

I think not only do we see the targeted internists, but it's the double-tap strikes that we see with the Gaza doctrine that is now being applied in Lebanon.

So in the case of Ali, Fatima and Mohammed, the original strike killed Ali and Mohammed, and it was a double-tap then that killed Fatima, Mohammed's sister, in the second strike.

This is a deliberate targeting of journalists.

The reasons behind that is to, of course, silence what is happening in Lebanon, the ethnic cleansing that's going on, the mass war crimes that's being committed.

On March twenty-eighth, Ali Shoaib would also be killed by an Israeli drone strike, along with, uh, as you said, uh, the reporter's brother and sister, Fatima and Mohammed Batuni.

Well, this, uh, original clip, clip is, is with the media compound in South Lebanon where Ali and his colleagues were staying.

Uh, Ali describes admit that's the first attempt to kill him.

Uh, Ali was staying there himself and survived the attack.

And not long afterwards, he himself was killed.

Uh, but as we've seen, uh, being applied, the, the same principles that are applied in Gaza, these lies and these slanders, uh, came very quickly with Israel regarding Ali Shoaib.

So we've seen almost immediately a photo of Ali in a Hezbollah uniform, uh, where half of the, the photo is, is, is caught between his press uniform and the Hezbollah uniform.
