Davie FureyHOST
what you were going through at the time with your health, which is again, nobody's business, but your own, but did that impact on your writing and on your approach to this album? Or was the album more of a nice distraction or a crutch? Maybe it's the wrong word, but does any of that related?

Sean MillarGUEST
So definitely the last, question first right it definitely was right so it definitely helped me get through all of that stuff knowing that i had this and it gave me a purpose and you know it gave me something to focus my energies into and all of that kind of stuff you know and so uh we went through all of the you know the pandemic in our flat here we live i live in a block of flats and you know here with my wife and my two kids and it was very um i don't know what the word you'd say but i suppose it was definitely claustrophobic put it that way right okay and kind of difficult you know to get through that but uh we did but for me and i've always been you know i'm kind of i need to get out i need to do things and i'm like that you know kind of thing you know i'm just that sort of person and for me having the album as a as to focus on trying to make an album and it the thing of the the pandemic really influenced the way i wanted to do it because i don't know if i would have made this if that hadn't happened but like in this way you know like so because what I wanted to do was I really wanted to make something that felt like I'm playing to somebody in the room you know and they're there with me you know listening you know so I read that that became a huge thing for me that kind of connection and and And I really, I didn't care about anything else, actually.

Sean MillarGUEST
Because you know what you're saying, earlier on, you were saying about that fine line, you don't want the chance, you know what I mean? So what I was doing was I was saying, well, even if it ended up that that's fine, what you sacrifice for the sake of of being connected with somebody that's what i would do you know that kind of thing like there's mistakes there's mistakes all over it like uh because i'm playing live and and they like that we left in and i just wanted on behalf of all the other musicians they didn't make mistakes i did so but yeah so so there's that and there's That really influenced it.
