DJ Sean Meaney

He was, seemed to be in control of Joan, telling everyone what to do.

You know, you'd be guessing what happened there because, uh, whether she was in a relationship with him or whether they'd come to some agreement or whether she'd found out maybe, and maybe he knew that she found out.

I mean, I'm guessing.

Sean remembers Joan well because she was the one who fired him from Radio Dublin after he'd seen Cooke on top of a young girl.

And it was Joan that told me.

See, he never, he n- he'd never approach me about anything.

Joan, he, he would give, give Joan the job o- of hiring and firing, as it were, or explaining things.

It was just ahead of that walk that Cooke first spoke with Jimmy Savile, as DJ Sean Meaney remembers.

And he rang him live on the air, and he made it seem like, um, that Savile rang him.

But, um, I was amazed because, um, I'd never known Eamon Cooke to interview anybody, but he was very anxious to interview him.

Jimmy Savile came to the Radio Dublin at one stage.

I wasn't there, but he came to the station the next time.

He actually came into the station.

So there was definitely some kind of connection there.

Eamonn Cooke was 42 years old at this time.
