One of the things we were diving into was the fact that, you know, the casinos aren't necessarily doing a great job of keeping people there.
14:39
There's often things pulling them away.
14:41
One of those things that's not necessarily attached to a casino keeping people there is the Sphere.
14:46
That seems like something that's fundamentally changed the landscape of entertainment here in Las Vegas.
14:51
So I'm curious from both of your perspectives, has it been for better or worse in terms of how it's changed the landscape of entertainment here in Vegas? Well, I wouldn't say that i- it's for the worse.
15:03
I mean, it's a, a spectacle that has brought worldwide attention to Las Vegas.

29:42
Yeah.
0:59
So thank you.
1:01
Sure, Beth.
1:02
Yeah.
1:03
It's great to be with you.
1:04
I'm also an admirer of you and your work and, uh, Yeah, happy to talk about what is a psychedelic lawyer, this title that I have.
1:14
There's a handful of us out there.
1:17
And no, it doesn't mean I take psychedelics for payment for my services.

9 MINS LATER

10:32
Not like going in the wrong direction.
23:50
And when you say it started with the docks on that part of the coast, what was the original, uh, issue as far as the docks and what was happening with them?
24:03
Uh, it, I don't wanna focus too much on this 'cause it, it really isn't the issue anymore.
24:08
Um, uh, there was over a 10-year moratorium on the issuance of new dock tenures in, in Pender for, uh, new, new dock tenures in Pender.
24:17
And so, uh, when that finally was, uh, ended, they brought out, um, a, uh, dock management plan and a s- and, and a, and were threatening to negotiate a Section 7 agreement under DRIPA.
24:29
To get, essentially give a veto over, uh, new dock tenures in, uh, the Pender Harbour area.
24:35
And I believe it was going to be a template for future tenures, um, uh, throughout the coast, and I th- and I think that's, uh, proven to be true.
24:43
Uh, and so there was an order in council that we, uh, objected to, and, uh, we took the, uh, government to court.
29:19
Are you concerned at all given the previous court ruling, again involving Cowichan, and, uh, what we've seen as far as court rulings that, again, this is going to the Supreme Court, that it could come down to one judge making a decision that then has repercussions for potentially the entire province?
4:08
How has Tat helped you develop into the player that you are, and where do you think you can reach your best football?
4:13
Yeah, I think it's been good.
4:14
Tat provided me the opportunity, like it's a bit of a gift and a curse being in the position that we're at, especially early in my career, being able to get those senior games where if, whereas I wouldn't have got them at Shep Bears, being as though they're a very good club and they have some good players.
4:26
But yeah, having to come back to Tat and getting that opportunity has made me grow as a player and, yeah, hopefully keep going along and sky's the limit really.
4:55
I guess how good is it to know that, you know, in a few seasons' time, there's this crop of, you know, young talent coming through the thirds that could be running around in the seniors? I guess how much belief does that sort of instill to you guys for the playing group for the future?
5:07
Um, yeah, it's really exciting because a couple years ago we didn't have a team.
5:10
Um, so have, yeah, maybe probably six or seven blokes that are probably gonna come and play senior footy is really exciting.
5:16
We had Patty McCarthy come play the other week for a couple weeks, and he went really well, and there's a lot of other kids in there, Tanner, Miller, Anton Bazil, Rory Herron.
