i had not i'm curious to so this is a movie i grew up on watching i loved it as a kid um what did you think of it
11:29
i thought it was really good um i thought it was it was fun it was very um there wasn't a lot of depth to it i mean it had some twists and turns and had like some kind of hidden maneuvers going on in the back in the background but overall the script was very straightforward but the music is great and they kind of They break it up into those chunks and they have like little title cards and vignettes that gives it kind of like this aging or aged sort of vibe.
11:54
Yeah.
11:56
But it's very well made.
11:57
And I always have said that period pieces age the best because it can be produced, you know, in the 70s, but set in the 30s.
12:07
And the way that...
12:09
Not only the way that it's shot then, but the way that they remember the 30s is going to be more accurate than how it's portrayed nowadays.

10 years
12:17
And then it kind of shut down, but I'll let you say it the way you would say it.
12:20
Yeah, so it was like when I was four and they confirmed that I was blind.
12:26
And my parents were telling me, well, you got to be careful.
12:29
You can't see.
12:30
You don't want to hurt yourself.
12:32
And then when I was around 12 or 13, I started developing another sort of version of it.
12:38
It wasn't quite as... sharp or vivid.
17:20
Speaking of seeing someone you love, will you share with the audience the story of your instantaneously seeing your beautiful wife one day? I'll leave it there and I'll let you tell the story.
0:00
[upbeat music] You guys all like Sublime?
2:22
Like, what did you, if you give this movie a bad review, what are you doing? What did you think it was gonna be? [laughs] And why do you still think it should be that?
2:31
Exactly, and there's room for those movies to be those movies.
2:34
I got into it in New Orleans.
2:35
This kid was, [laughs] the, uh, top 10, whatever it was, but I wa- I kept telling this kid that I like The Dark Knight more than Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and he could not handle it.
2:45
And he kept throwing all these facts at me, and movie guy stuff, you know? And I was like, "I've seen The Dark Knight a million times.
2:51
I've seen Eternal Sunshine maybe twice." You know.
2:55
Am I wrong?
13:07
I do too.
13:08
Yeah.
13:08
Big fan.
13:09
I stopped at the...
13:10
Okay.
13:10
God.
13:11
I was, I honked at someone the other day at a Starbucks.
13:52
[laughs]
18:34
A crocodile.
18:36
A crocodile.
18:36
It's not a crocodile.
18:37
The second g- or the second clue is, uh, when this animal bites you, it causes you to bleed more to alarm you, to kind of put you on your heels.
18:49
So when this animal bites you, you bleed more to make it look more severe-
21:45
Yeah, exactly.
21:47
Man, that's like Reptile Gardens.
21:49
There was this place in South Dakota called Reptile Gardens where you could go on a path in, it was a dome, like a climate-controlled dome, and they just had all of the reptiles or whatever, like snakes, frogs, uh, anything that couldn't really hurt you, they were just free-range in there.
56:28
Yeah, yeah.
56:28
And the test audiences were, like, pissed 'cause they were expecting a Tim Allen thing, and it was a little too dirty.
56:36
So they, uh, DreamWorks was like, "All right, let's, let's edit it down." And a lot of people...
56:42
I watched the, I watched the documen- I re-watched the documentary about it for this too.
56:48
A lot of people love that because they're able to share it with their kids.
56:51
Right.
56:52
So it- And, like, the screening that I went to had a- It's gone on ... ton of families.
57:12
It should be unwatchable.
