Could you give us some examples of cases that the Garda Síochána has dealt with?

We've had some very high profile cases in the recent couple of years and I have a couple of them listed here.

First, we go to Sligo where there was, this is 2023, there was a male who was at the top of the hierarchical structure of a criminal organisation.

He organised the delivery and supply of cannabis, cocaine, prescription drugs.

And all of the threats and violence, intimidation and attacks that went on him, he received a significant sentence.

We go to January 2025 in North Dublin.

Senior dissident Republican who was arrested as part of an investigation into drug debt intimidation, jailed for six and a half years.

How can the journey be disrupted from not taking drugs, taking drugs, being intimidated by somebody because you've bought drugs off them?
