So the distinguishing things are really gonna be what's in your letters, and then ultimately once the interview's there, is that somebody that I'm gonna wanna spend time with, you know, day in and day out for three hundred and sixty-five days.

It's very helpful to have personal connections.

You can't, you know, make up personal connections, but you should try and if they exist, you should really use them.

If, if your mentor at your program went to that program for his or her fellowship, you really should, should lever that and, uh, you should see actually who's, who's gonna be interviewing you, who are the attendings at that program.

You should do-- You really should do a lot of homework on each of the programs you're interviewing and say, "Hey, that guy went to the same college as I went to.

You know, look at that, he's actually gonna be interviewing me, one of my interviewers.

We can talk about, you know, both on the rowing team," or whatever it might be.
