And there's perhaps a sense that Australasia was just another part of the Tongan archipelago.

And they're extremely lucky that they were wrecked on Ata because there's a very large zone of empty ocean beyond Ata.

You have Minerva Reef, and then you have a big area of open ocean, not sort of broken until the Kermadec Islands.

So the boys, after stealing a boat, were caught in a storm, and the storm drove them on to Ata.

And actually more often mayors have used it to block new housing from being built or to use it for, you know, little pet projects like installing a sign here or something like that so it hasn't actually had the intended uh purpose of it used so far and it actually has been detrimental in a number of ways um if you've directed mayor just given you know your conversation earlier about listening to people and things like that um if you were elected mayor would you continue using these powers if you did how would you use them and and how would you make this more of a collaborative council going forward

I think leadership is not about having more power and more control.
18:07
Leadership is about bringing other people along with you.
18:11
And you typically don't do that by force or with a bludgeon or with a threat.
18:16
You bring people along with you by working with them, listening to them and ensuring that their values and goals are aligned with yours so that everyone's working together.

18:30
So leadership isn't about who is the strongest leadership is about who is the most collaborative that can get everyone to move in the same direction because it's a huge ship and if you want to change directions i mean it takes it's all hands on deck so as a great philosopher once said with great power comes great responsibility And it's the same with primary powers.
