So when, as you were falling out, I mean, were you thinking that maybe you would never get back to it or that was something in the past or was it something you're like, I'll eventually get into shape, but I don't know when?
1:43
Yeah, so I had a background in physical fitness and training.
1:49
I owned a martial arts dojo for several years.
1:52
I used to compete.
1:53
in tournaments and um you know and then when i hit my 50s i had re-injured my knee and i've got other injuries like i've got four herniated discs in my in my lumbar and hurt my ankle in airborne school in the army and some other injuries.
2:13
And what happened was I found myself in my mid to late fifties and my injuries had acted up again.
2:21
And so I had fallen into a bad mental state and I found myself sitting in my chair, in my comfort zone.

So let's go ahead.
1:11
Would you please start with some background about how you came to the carnivore diet and what transpired after that?
1:19
Sure.
1:20
Um, growing up, I always played football, basketball, softball, all kinds of sports, um, started weightlifting and I think I was 12 or 13.
1:30
I got my first set of weight.
1:31
So I always loved doing that stuff.
1:35
And, uh, up until through the navy when i got out of the navy after eight years was just constantly doing sports and weight training and actually running at the time and i hate running but i did some of that and uh then when i got into my 30s all that started to fade away just got busy and aches and pains and started putting on weight and uh by the time i was in my 40s and hit 50 I was ballooning up really bad and I didn't know it for years, but I had a mild case of AFib.
2:13
I developed severe obstructive sleep apnea and there was points in my life where I would be in bed for 11, 12 hours and the next day I was suffering.
