But why is it such an important time to talk about road safety? Scott, what are some of the things being looked at and what does that work actually involve?

Yeah, so you're absolutely right.

School zone safety is a big area of focus for us right now, especially this time of year as all the kids are getting ready and geared up back to go to school.

So right now, the region's focused on making updates and enhancements to the school zones that fall within our community safety zones across Niagara Region, but specifically here in Lincoln.

We're focused kind of on three key things as we get into that work.

The first thing we want to do is make our school areas as easy to spot and to find on the road as possible.

Sometimes the school might be set a little bit farther back from the road and drivers may not even know they're entering into a school zone.

So just to circle back on that and then to take it further, when you say public transportation, you're just talking about regional, not specifically any GO services.

So we've touched on this a bit already, but how important do you think that ease of use is when evaluating new equipment? How important was that for you when you chose to use clip fitter?

Yeah, ease of use is massive.

It's probably the biggest put off from folk changing away from the traditional kind of ringing system.

Like I have to admit, I've not actually used num nuts before, but I would imagine it'd be the same.

It takes a wee bit of getting used to.

If you're used to just normal ringing pliers, it is going to slow you down a wee bit and whatnot.

But yeah, on that front, the clip footer is not, perfect particularly the pliers i don't particularly have a kind of engineering brain but i think there's probably there could potentially be a better design for the pliers out there that would make them a wee bit easier to use a wee bit easier to apply and certainly for castration i mean the tails are pretty easy because obviously you can you can come at a tail from from any angle um really but for the balls you've got to be in a pretty kind of specific position so i don't know i think there could potentially be modifications to the pliers in future hopefully that might make them a wee bit easier because there's no doubt in that that is probably the biggest put off and it's the biggest thing that i've heard discussing with other folk that have used the clip fitters that maybe haven't um haven't persevered for as long with them as we did is that they just found them so awkward to use

And what advice do you have for farmers considering adopting clip footer?
