... first weekend in October, and, uh, you know, Detroit River is a special pl- the whole system's a special place in the fall.
3:10
But the bass just migrate to the mouth of the Detroit River from Lake Erie.
3:15
The shad are in there, and it was just set up perfect.
3:17
It was, it was, that was a great event.
3:20
And going down to Lake Murray and fishing the All-American, you know, was a truly remarkable event.
3:26
But I didn't do so good the first day.

You know, the young guys with the scope, right? Are you, have you adopted the technology? Are you using your tried and true strategies that you've really pioneered for the last couple decades? Or how are you competing? Are you diving in with that or not?
8:59
And so there's been like a definite shift in the last, you know, year and a half, two years is when I really, it kind of hit me on the head.
9:07
And take, for example, Lake Champlain.

We've always had, you know, FLW tour events up there, now MLF Pro Circuit, the Toyotas, that tournament that always went on in the end of June was always primarily won by bed fishing you know going out there marking your beds catching the fish weighing them dropping them back going out there in the tournament using the flogger and catching bed fish and the weights were like 18 19 maybe a 20 pound sack a day and that would you know get you in the in the hunt for the win now you know fast forward a few years to the last what two years i think it was the bass master elite event that blew it away and end of july or august but The last time I was there last year, in June, I was open water scoping over 150 feet of water in the end of June.
9:57
And there were still piles of fish on beds, but the tournament was won offshore.
10:02
And there was just a Toyota event there.
10:04
last week it was shortened to only i think two days or whatnot but it was it was one offshore so it's there's definitely a shift in how we're approaching these tournaments now so all that knowledge everything that we've had that you gained all these little secret spots and these little nooks and crannies all over the great lakes yes they still play up shallow and there's still good places to go to on blow days and when it's windy or cloudy or rainy but These guys are coming out here and literally putting down the trolling motor in the middle of Lake St. Clair, and you can troll a motor around for a mile or two, and you're going to stumble on a school of fish.

Tell me, what does that look like? Is it acres of beds or what does that look like during the spawn?
