Yeah, I mean, I've had
10:01
a fun, I love adventure.
10:03
I love challenging myself, just like all of these athletes.
10:06
And so I've had the privilege to climb the Seven Summits and some of the tallest mountains around the world, getting to do some really long ultra runs through the deserts and the mountains.
10:16
Is that But now I've gotten passionate the last few years around triathlon too.
10:21
And I just love the community, the togetherness, and getting to challenge yourself in this incredible community.
10:29
So it's really special.
11:56
it is an amazing race we've got eight athletes here who qualified at ironman new zealand it's of course the i think it's the last mass swim start in the sport outside it is so it's very unique in that sense and it is it's a magical place but australia of course we got to induct our hero craig alexander the hall of fame which i was so thankful and grateful to be a part of and everyone spoke so well and it didn't surprise me that crowey just spoke about everyone else but himself what a guy

Yeah
43:43
... or anything of that sort.
43:45
Ultimately, it was about wanting to, uh, see the world in ways that I could have never dreamt of seeing, and this love of nature and this love of being outdoors combined with doing hard things, and this sense of challenge fuels me.
44:07
I'm not gonna be the fastest.
44:08
I'm not necessarily gonna be the strongest.
44:10
Uh, but I love putting myself in that environment where I'm gonna face this challenge that I'm confident, but I'm not sure that it's going to... that I'm gonna be successful.
44:25
And embracing that sort of uncertainty and the pain-

You go there and you're like, "How is this gonna happen?"
37:05
Mm-hmm.
37:06
And does it come with risk? Of course.
37:08
Might I fail? Of course, but what's the worst that's gonna happen? It's usually not that bad, right? And so certainly when we contrast the answer to that question with what might happen if this goes well, right? And, you know, if we're able to turn around Equinox and rebuild coming out of the pandemic, if we're able to really reignite IRONMAN and really fuel this community, and, uh, y- like, the, the positive impact of that far outweighs and exceeds whatever risk there might be for me personally or for us as a collective.
37:57
I routinely ask myself, "What's the worst that's gonna happen?" And it's usually not that bad, and I think some people get weighed down by what they think might happen and put more weight on the negative than the, the po- than the positive.

In, in competition it's quite, it can, it can be a good thing, but I, I understand the point you're trying to make.
53:54
And so for me, that's when going mental becomes really important, is, okay, let's, let's refind center.
54:04
Let's focus.
54:05
Let's break down what are the really important two or three issues that we have to solve for here, and let's go solve for those.
