J
17:29Jake HoferHOST
... do you really start targeting scrapes to hunt outside of just running cameras on them?
S
17:41Scott BuckleyGUEST
You know? If, if it's at, like I keep talking about that big timber and public land areas, you know, if there's hot scrapes first part of October, um, you know, I'll hunt them scrapes then.
S
17:53Scott BuckleyGUEST
You know, if it's by, by an area where there's lots of acorns dropping or something.
S

I keep thinking back to this one area I used to hunt, and, and I'm not much of a morning guy in the October, but in this case- That I'm talking about, that year the acorns were up there, there were so many bucks in there.

They would, um, I would get pictures of the bucks, like, um, you know, like 8:00 in the morning the first part of October, um, coming back into their beds.

Will you still, um, pay attention to scrapes and hunt, hunt that same way without being able to monitor them to know what time of day they're hitting those scrapes? Or how will you, how will you target that stuff without being able to run cameras?

They'll try to, and sometimes in the middle of the, you know, they're, they're so wound up, they don't pay much attention, but most time they'll, they'll try to cut into that wind and, um, yeah, it just depends on their mood and what.

yeah another thing is it's good get i mean a lot of guys talk about beds but this is a great time of year if you know where they're bedding you know get right on top of them there was a situation i told you about this weekend one of them big ones i was after i just picked up i picked up a i had a random p i had one camera on this property and um hadn't had a maybe a couple i've had it back there about a month on a on a scrape i made mock scrape i've just had a couple small bucks a couple few does it kind of not very much it's it's a draw that goes into a big bean field a wooded draw and i got a picture the other morning at 9 30 in the morning this big old buck buck i kind of knew of and um five-year-old buck um i don't know he's probably 160s he was going in at 9 30 in the morning i figured i know this draws how big bucks in the past but they usually start moving in in november or so and i had him on camera at 9 9 30 in the morning i thought shit he's probably bedding right there and um i had a pre-hung stand in there and um kind of it was a big It was a wooded draw that comes out maybe 300 yards off a piece of timber.

But there's a big, huge creek in there, a big cut, and they got to go around this cut.
