Now, how did you get, what was the final stepping stone into aviation firefighting?

Right, so this was actually a bit of a fluke to be honest.

So in 2016, after being unsuccessful becoming a permanent firey in the Queensland Fire Department, I made a choice to beeline for the coastline.

So that for any sort of applications going forward, reapplying, any of that sort of desire, I had to be on the coast because it was quite expensive to fly in and out of Mount Isa for any type of testing.

So I beelined for Townsville, straight line out of Mount Isa, kept it nice and simple.

I did have a few friends here were able to take me in straight away, which was really good.

I made those friends through the hospitality industry that was still working in Mount Isa as well as all that volunteer stuff too.
