Mm.
13:59
If it's this health moralism, that implies that there is a solution, right? That's how we approach health.
14:06
It's like, you have an infection, take antibiotics.
14:07
If you have a flu, take the cough medicine.
14:09
I don't know, whatever it is.
14:10
We always look at it as like a cause and effect.
14:12
And I will give you another example outside of endometriosis.

How do you think we can move away from that or at least recognize when it's happening a little bit better?
4:17
Um,
4:18
yeah, I mean, it's always a hard question to answer because you can really choose your own starting point of that story.
4:25
If I'm told, that story a couple of years ago, I would have said, yeah, when I was in my early twenties, I really struggled with eating disorders and, uh, feeling worthy, feeling good enough.
4:36
Um, really viewing myself through a very patriarchal lens of like being a sex object, essentially for men to please them.
4:45
I'm feeling like my body was never good enough for me to be chosen as a human and as a woman, but I could also go so much farther back in that story and, um, trace memories and threads all the way back to being like, you know, seven, eight, nine years old and being put on a diet for the first time because I was getting too big as a child and being in middle school, which is like, you know, around 12 to 14 years old and having crushes on boys for the first time and being in girlfriend groups and like whether it was with girlfriends or boyfriends like just wanting to be chosen and feeling like any rejection I experienced was the result of you know I was taller than everyone I was the bigger girl I had boobs first I was you know just everything was like oh it's because of what you look like and so as I've gone through this journey over the years My realization that it was something I needed to work on came shortly after that time in college when I had really horrible eating disorders and bad body image, but then I traced the thread so much farther back to my younger years.
5:49
But yeah, long story short, I... was one of those people that you so often see on the internet and you probably know in real life now which is the especially women that are obsessed with having the perfect body I was very much one of those girls when I was in my early 20s and I actually had what a lot of people would consider the perfect body and the perfect habits and routines to go with it I was very much a obsessive calorie counter.
6:18
I was on a weight loss journey for years.

That's normal, right? For us to just be in the mud sometimes.
