I wanted to ask you really what your what your influence was and how did you get into sea kayaking in the first place? Have you transitioned across from some other adventuring thing that you've done or what was the inspiration behind you starting with the wet stuff?
11:26
Yeah, I wouldn't, I suppose I'd be known as a water babe.
11:29
And there are certain people, friends and family who look at me now and go, really? I have done a lot of cycling in the past and done a lot of hill walking.
11:40
So again, the value of a waterproof map is, you know, I can really appreciate that.
11:49
And in terms of cycling as well, I suppose you'd be using slightly different scale of maps for cycling as well.

um i was very lucky to have um had a partner one time who was into all sorts of adventure travel he was american so air trail and we he wanted to spec some opportunities off the west coast of ireland so we went down to west cork and we borrowed two kayaks this was oh just many many years ago and that was my first introduction to sea kayaking and i remember and i will never forget him just roaring at me keep them hips loose so that's one of those things always keep your hips loose in a kayak and because if you and breathe deeply So I can still hear that voice ringing me nearly every time I go out in the boat.
12:40
So I suppose I had an introduction and then I did a little bit of whitewater kayaking, but that wasn't...
13:35
one do you get a rigid one do you get all of that stuff yeah yeah i feel like i'm on the beginning of that journey myself but i mean so and and what is it that you would say is is that the key thing what what would our listeners so just like you i mean the majority of them i would say are probably like you that they're doing walking and they're cycling and they're doing all of that stuff So what has the move to sea kayaking done for you? Well,
