so oh yeah so i'm in the trisco because um i am there for october no sorry september october and i was like in residency for the first month so i like did like a performance that i was like developing while i was in the space and then i did that on culture night and then this month i was like just have an exhibition on the space and it's called i want to talk about ireland which is like that quote from shane o'connor you know that song because yeah

yeah yeah

yeah so i was using that as like kind of a little bit of a not super serious uh title because it's a bit like grandiose but yeah so i was like yeah there's paintings in the space now but there's also like this spoken word album called i want to talk about ireland that's also like playing in the space and the idea is i have this character called mary who's kind of like mother ireland but she's mother ireland if mother ireland was like a girl kind of like the undermine the idea of like this very like saintly woman kind of figure and so it's like kind of her dreams of Ireland and I guess kind of really like playing into that like girlish aesthetic in kind of a way that's a little bit icky like some of the paintings are a little bit like using that like I don't know very like I don't know like there's lots of glitter there's lots of like little fabric and shells and stuff like that so kind of playing with how far I could make that without it being too like gaudy but it is gaudy um and that's kind of the point i guess oh yeah the idea of it being about dreams is kind of like there's like this genre of poetry called the ashling which means dream and it's like the nation of ireland appears to the poet in a dream and she talks about like what's going on around other times like different social concerns so there's kind of like a little bit of social commentary in it as well but yeah so the idea is that like people can read whatever they want into the paintings as well though so They also, hopefully, are just nice to look at.
