What are your comments on the right-wing radicalisation that has been fuelled by One Nation and the far right? And how has it contributed to this climate of violence?
2:50
Yeah, no, absolutely.
2:51
And look, I think it's pretty disingenuous from, you know, the major parties as well, absolutely One Nation, but with the political rhetoric that comes out of the Liberal Party at times, Angus Taylor, and there's even been allegations that the Labor Party put out a shit sheet the day before this happened.
3:08
And so, you know, how seriously do we take Albanese's comments? I was thinking about, you know, has has this been fuelled by One Nation? And it's a bit of a chicken or the egg question because has One Nation fuelled this or are they capitalising on a political moment that we were already heading to? And certainly in some of my advocacy work with the local group Be True, which campaigns around First Nations justice, we did see a pretty significant shift in discourse after the voice of parliament referendum failed you know all the attacks on i'm not going to stand in front of an aboriginal flag and why do we have a welcome to country and things that three six months ago were fringe or like wouldn't have been platformed to the degree that they have and then after that it feels like one nation's just kind of gone from irrelevancy to growing overnight so i think they've perhaps inflamed attitudes that came out of that voiced voice department referendum and then they're capitalizing on it with elections and then the mainstream media just gives them a free platform um and spews their hate and platforms pauline hansen because it's all clickbait and there's you know all care no responsibility and it's a failure of both major parties like albanese is not calling her out like he can barely say the r word he won't call it out and just say it's racism and then angus taylor plays into it in terms of my you know cracking down on migration or reducing migration it is a failure across the spectrum but I think you know there's this broader broader societal thing as well I'm probably sort of jumping ahead of myself a little bit but we still seem to have this pervasive culture around violence against women that's normalized despite years of advocacy you know in the last week you know I Again, what's happened to Helen is horrific and I'm not downplaying that as well.
4:57
But in the space of a week, Lydia Thorpe has shared some things that have happened to her and threats.
5:02
We've seen One Nation's disgusting cartoon attacking Jackie Lamio for a health issue.
5:08
And I think the common thread that I'm seeing is dehumanising.

You work as a mental health worker and I guess what are your thoughts on the general crisis of mental health and accessibility of services at a state level?
