It is an absolute pleasure to join today's forum on fostering child safe digital environments on social media, and to be provided this opportunity to outline Australia's approach to online safety regulation.

So as digital technology has become increasingly embedded in everyday life, ensuring platforms and services are safe and trustworthy is essential to realizing the benefits of this connectivity.

Australia's online safety framework responds to the scale and evolving nature of online harms, particularly for children and young people, including abuse, exploitation, and exposure to harmful content.

Australia's approach recognizes that risk is not evenly distributed, and that safeguards must account for those who are most vulnerable online.

So while, of course, my presentation today will focus primarily on a social media minimum age, it is really important to note that this work sits within a broader, well-established framework within Australia.

So, you know, we were high school sweethearts.

... until I was in crisis mode, and that crisis came through a manic episode.

And what that looks like is that you are very incoherent while you're in the episode, and you also feel like you're invincible.

You're on top of the world.

Danger is not a thing to you.

And you also have, like, these moments where you're talking extremely fast.

No one can really keep up.

And so can you talk about that other side of the coin? Like, the, the time that you were in depression and how did your relationship with God look then?
