So was there a particular year when you feel tournament, maybe it was a tournament or moment, when you looked around and you said, something is changing?
7:24
Yeah, I mean, I think the year right before we sanctioned, I can tell that it was coming.
7:32
And then really in any state, I've seen it in so many different states that the year that you sanction, there's an explosion because it really is a build it and they will come attitude.
7:43
It's when girls know that there's an opportunity that it's not just, oh, do you want to wrestle? And they, you know, have this assumption that it's boys and all these different things.
7:52
It's like, no, do you want to do girls wrestling? And that makes a huge difference.

So I would think the year before we sanctioned, I definitely felt it coming.

Do you feel like there were areas where other states looked more prepared comparing to previous years? Sarah, did any states surprise you?
18:48
Yeah.
18:48
I think that it wasn't in a specific area, but I feel that Ohio and Indiana stood out to me with their improvement from years past.
19:03
And I don't know... what that factor is.
19:07
But I know the last two years they've hosted USA Wrestling regional camps and they had their dual team girls at those camps and made it mandatory for both of those.
19:17
So it seems like very cohesive getting them together, which me and Liz are trying to do and a lot of the other coaches.
19:25
It's just Illinois is very big.
