Amazon delivery by drone may soon be coming to Portland
4:13

Dave MillerHOST
What have you heard about places where Amazon's delivery drones are already being used? What kinds of stories have emerged?
S
4:19Sara EdwardsGUEST
Yeah, so Amazon spokesperson directly has said that the, uh, the implementation of drone delivery has been largely positive.
S

However, over the last couple of weeks, we have seen reporting, the most, the main one being from The New York Times, about how, um, drone delivery has essentially taken over this, uh, neighborhood in Richardson, Texas, which is actually not far from where I grew up.
S

And residents and neighbors told The New York Times that there are so many drones flying overhead, it sounds like a lawnmower, um, sometimes.
S

And drone hours are typically between sunrise and sunset, so 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and for people who are at home all day, um, they've reported it's just, you know, constant drones all over.
S
4:58Sara EdwardsGUEST
They actually have a picture with their story, and I think there's, like, three or four drones in just this one pretty far away shot.

So it's largely, largé- media has not reported a lot of positive things about it.
