What is something that you recently have learned as a gardener that you wish you would've known years ago and would've changed how you do things?

Sandra MauGUEST
So, um, I think one thing that I learned that completely changed the way I garden right now, uh, is, uh, knowing that how important healthy soil is.

Sandra MauGUEST
So earlier in my garden, uh, gardening journey, I focused heavily in fertilizer and feeding my plants instead of focus, uh, to building the soil structure.

Sandra MauGUEST
But then, uh, over time, I realized that, uh, building a living soil is the real foundation for thriving garden.

Sandra MauGUEST
So when I start paying attention and learn more about composting, worm casting, that I right now do it in my garden, and mulch and also soil structure, I noticed that healthier plants and also fewer pest problem as well, and better yield overall.

Sandra MauGUEST
So understanding how microbes, soil microbes, worms, and organic matter work together taught me that gardening is really about creating the ecosystem, so not just growing plants.

Sandra MauGUEST
So, uh, and I also wish that I had understood sooner that less perfection often lead to a healthy garden because, because you know, na- nature does not need everything to be perfect.

Holly BairdHOST
So would you have some advice for those who are new to gardening and feel really intimidated by it?
