Were those questions or challenges that you had to deal with in the beginning?
6:22
Well, sure.
6:23
I mean, we, like I said, we were the first, and my background is not in animal welfare, but my background is in business, so I think I approached this more as a business that deals with animals.
6:33
So it was the same kind of challenges that you would be in any business.
6:37
So as far as our cat population, I mean, we are looking to adopt cats, and we needed to find, I think, a comfortable number of cats that was comfortable for the staff to keep an eye on because this is more than just having a bunch of cats in the room.
6:54
Obviously, you have to keep an eye on them.
6:56
And then a comfortable cat-to-guest ratio.
11:33
You wanna share a little bit about what that might look like?
11:45
How could I not stop at the cat cafe? But for those who haven't experienced one, what is a cat cafe and what makes it such a special place?
11:53
So it is a full-service coffee shop where you can go in and get anything that you want that you would find in a traditional coffee shop.
12:01
You're welcome to stay on the coffee shop side.
12:04
We have a big picture window, and you can see the adoptable cats and kittens in the cat play adoption area.
12:10
Or for a small fee, you can go into the cat play area where we have anywhere between 15 and let's say 30 cats and kittens, which all come to us from SPCA Florida.
12:20
They're all spayed, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on their inoculations, and most importantly, all available for adoption.
12:27
You can spend an hour there playing with the cat, petting the cats.

So speaking of the socialization, how does the Cat Cafe model help adoption rates for cats?
