Why is it different this time? Why is this gonna work?
45:23
Well, I think one of the most important things that's happened is that we have combined Chrome OS, um, our, our, our laptop platform, and Android, um, you know, the, the mobile platform which has over three billion users, into a single experience with an ame- really clean desktop Window UI that you expect in a laptop, what people have come to, to love in Chrome OS, but with the underlying power and support from a huge hardware ecosystem of Android.
45:48
And with that, you also get incredible compatibility with your mobile device.
45:54
Um, and as we just said, you know, everyone wants to have, uh, an ecosystem of devices that all work better together.
46:01
Uh, when you buy that amazing smartphone, you want an amazing laptop that pairs with it nicely.
46:04
And I, I think this really changes the game for, um, for those, for those consumers.
46:09
I, I also think, you know, we've been moving from an operating system to an intelligence system in, in Android, building smarts into the-
48:08
Right.
3:53
How does that relate to kind of the way you're thinking about it and the way you're talking about, you know, the way we access these systems?
3:59
Yeah, that's a great question.
4:00
I'd answer it with two different things.
4:04
First, I think the app is... at like a bit of like a meta level, the app is a set of functionality packaged by a particular provider of those services, right? And so I think if fundamentally we say, okay, you know, is the app going away? If we mean sets of services from folks, you know, that have a brand that you interface with, I don't think that's going away.
4:30
I don't think it went away when we moved from mobile to apps.
4:33
I don't think it's going away now.
4:35
The form of it could change in some regards.

51:41
Um, what's your best tip for leaders in maximizing their time and getting maximum leverage for their time?
1:25
So I'd love to sort of start there and then we can talk about all the stuff that y'all launched.
1:29
Yeah.
1:30
Well, so for the Android show, it's all know your audience, right? And our audience is a lot of people who are using devices and they're excited about technology.
1:38
They're excited about the product that they're using.
1:39
They want it to get better.
1:40
But they're not necessarily the folks who are super, super deep on AI.
1:45
Some are, but some are not because it's a much wider audience.

24 MINS LATER

26:05
So I'm curious sort of how you're thinking about it from an Android perspective.
speaker_13UNKNOWN
50:59
Mm.
50:59
That's what I said initially to them.
51:00
But, um, as I started using it and as they've iterated and refined it, I have to say it's pretty awesome.
51:06
And let me, just for your listeners, let me just give the, the concept here.
51:10
So Gemini Intelligence is kind of how we infuse the capabilities of, of, of, um, Google Gemini into, um, both phones, but also now into, um, Google Books.
51:20
And, uh, you know, I think it's really an opportunity to bring innovation back to the, to, to the laptop, you know, which is a great form factor.
51:28
It's actually getting more popular now with, with, with all this, you know, AI stuff because you can do more with, um, on your laptop with, with it than, than, than you can on other form factors.

6 MINS LATER

57:46
Mm
27:00
One of my favorite new features in the last handful of years.
27:03
Right.
27:03
And one of the cool things we did when we launched that is, in the marketing of it and explaining it to people, we didn't really use the word AI once.
27:09
It was just like, here's what you can do with it, and here's how it helps you.
27:12
So I think we're trying to continue that with Android.
27:15
AI, obviously, is a very important technology.
27:18
And one of the things we announced here at the show is how we're improving the Gemini capability on Android, which we've deeply connected with the entire smartphone system.

6 MINS LATER

You know, how do we make sure that those people, my friends and family in Boise, Idaho, can trust the technology to do that?
