And I think you're going to have a lot of good thoughts.
0:46
So.
0:46
Welcome to the show.
0:47
It's great to be here.
0:48
Great to be in person with you and great to be back on the show.
0:52
And it is a really pivotal time, I think, for OTAs because I have been thinking for a long time about what happens when you have an agent, an agent like the in the movie Her, you know, that is your agent.
1:05
know perfect executive assistant and everyone has one of these what happens to an ota experience where you don't need to go to a website anymore to book a hotel um and that changes a lot of different things for an ota and and what's relevant for this discussion is that with instinct coming out and muse coming out over the past few weeks and really capturing hearts and minds It also has captured the hearts and minds of Wall Street.
3:00
And so do you think that will also have anything to do with these new AI agents like Muse coming in because, or at least with the difference of getting to the site on mobile or via online web
2:24
What in the world gave you the idea to found Hotel Tonight and kind of jump into the travel industry?
2:31
Yeah, I actually jumped in two companies before Hotel Tonight, and I was combining sort of a personal interest in travel with my interest in building internet companies.
2:43
And I sort of naively thought that it would be very easy to build something, you know, slightly better and, you know, disrupt things.
2:51
And I realized very quickly that it was going to be very hard.
2:55
And especially around doing something that got a lot of distribution.
3:00
I think that's ultimately the hard part of building an internet travel company is that, you know, getting in front of customers is hard.
3:07
Probably just, you know, even an internet company in general, getting in front of customers is very, very hard.

20 MINS LATER

What do you see happening to our current model of a few large online travel agencies? How do you think that's going to shake up as we move to more AI-first interactions?
