59:00
Will it have any impact at all for truckers who need diesel right now?
59:07
Yeah, so here, a couple things.
59:08
One, the short answer is no, it probably won't move the markets very much immediately.
59:12
It accounts to roughly 70,000 barrels per day of product at the pump over the course of one single month.
59:19
So the reality is it's not really very much.
59:20
But I'll tell you what, I'm really fired up over this issue because the hypocrisy that you're seeing is unbelievable.
59:27
For weeks, the Democrats were on every channel crying about high prices of affordability.
61:42
How are you going to fix affordability unless you do anything positive to increase supply, Sam?
44:42
Sam, I'll let you take it from there.
44:44
Well, look, this is this isn't a whole lot different from the crazy radical left green ideology to begin with.
44:50
Right.
44:50
I mean, California diesel sitting at about eight thirty to fifty dollars a gallon right now when the rest of the country is sitting.
44:56
Look, it's not great, but let's just say roughly six dollars.
44:58
I think we're under six dollars now.
45:00
But this is what they want.

13 MINS LATER

57:46
What do you say about that?
22:58
Are we at the top of the mountain? Are we about to slope all the way down when it comes to prices because of oil fields in Venezuela and the Strait of Hormuz?
23:07
Well, listen, I think we've been looking at deal after deal in the trade of Hormuz up and down.
23:12
It's really hard to tell.
23:14
It's flowing right now.
23:17
Oil seems to be stabilizing a little bit, still slightly elevated.
23:20
We're like mid 80s, but we haven't seen crazy spikes over into the hundreds for a little while, which is good.
23:26
And now you're seeing more recently that Canada thinks they're going to threaten The oil supply into the U.S. and the trade deal with Venezuela.
24:18
It does seem like an American OPEC has started forming right in front of our eyes, right?
55:10
Are we at the top of the mountain? Are we about to slope all the way down when it comes to prices because of oil fields in Venezuela and the Strait of Hormuz?
55:19
Well, listen, I think we've been looking at deal after deal in the Strait of Hormuz up and down.
55:25
It's really hard to tell.
55:27
It's flowing right now.
55:29
Oil seems to be stabilizing a little bit, still slightly elevated.
55:32
We're like mid 80s, but we haven't seen crazy spikes over into the hundreds for a little while now, which is good.
55:38
um and now you're seeing more recently that canada thinks they're going to threaten the oil supply into the u.s and the trade deal with venezuela so you know ultimately what i think you're seeing is really truly a long-term vision for how our country the united states of america wants to be the leader in the oil markets american energy dominance And this means getting out of this OPEC cartel.
56:30
It does seem like an American OPEC has started forming right in front of our eyes, right?
34:46
Good morning.
34:47
Yeah, yeah, of course.
34:48
Well, thanks for having me back on the show.
34:49
I really appreciate it.
34:50
As I was driving to the Wawa this morning and I pulled in to get my morning coffee, I did see that gas is now over $4 in Florida.
34:57
The oil price is playing around $100 a barrel.
35:00
And here's what I tell everyone is, look, We should drill baby drill all day long, but at the end of the day, we can drill every well in the Permian Basin, but we are still susceptible to global commodity prices.
36:22
But I do tell people where people can get more information about what you guys do over there at your company.
29:55
You see, apparently windmills and solar panels made in China don't actually power the grid, do they?
30:03
Well, they certainly don't provide baseload power.
30:05
But to your point, look, gas prices are high.
30:08
But I think more importantly, and whatever it's not talking about, is that the utility bills are going to be what follows.
30:14
And you nailed it.
30:15
The Public Utility Commission, the PUC, sometimes called the PSC, they kind of regulate these monopoly utility companies.
30:22
But the PUC boards are made up ex-utility company lobbyists, right? So it's not really a fair shake for the ratepayers in most cases.
33:27
That would solve the problem long-term, would it not?
22:10
And are these things going to be in service in two or three years like Trump wants?
22:16
Two to three years is really hopeful.
22:18
And in my opinion, the only way they can do that is through federal expediting and federal land.
22:23
The biggest problem with nuclear truly comes down to the environmental review process, NEPA, right? And so what happens in this review process is they spend the next 20 years deciding what sage grass or what rare obscure lizard might be impacted by this nuclear.
22:40
reactor.
22:41
But here's what we need to think about is if we run out of energy in this country, we have much greater problems than worrying about what kind of lizard is not going to maybe exist anymore or lose its little home.
22:52
So we need to be looking at how we streamline the permitting process As far as who wins, I don't know who's going to win the SMR race.
25:15
Go on.
24:00
We were talking a little bit in the break about diesel prices in particular, because this is really how we move goods across this country, by truck, and that's obviously ending up costing us more.
24:14
Yeah, thank you for having me on the show.
24:16
I've been on the show a few times now.
24:17
It's always a pleasure.
24:19
There's a lot of things that are taking place right now.
24:22
And the most important takeaway is that energy infrastructure is a target of war.
24:28
And energy markets are very sensitive to war.
26:24
And it just, when I see the Battle of the Strait of Hormuz and you see so much activity going on right now, I got to ask myself, is it worth risking American lives so that the rest of the world can get their oil? I guess that's another question that I can raise as well.
42:15
It's a totally different approach, isn't it?
42:17
Yeah, well, the thing about it is that what we need to realize in this country is that electrons, energy, are not red, blue, green, purple, whatever.
42:26
At the end of the day, what we need to do is enable the free market to choose the winner rather than propping up and having government pick winners and losers.
42:35
And if that's coal, so be it.
42:36
If that's nuclear, great.
42:37
If that's solar, wonderful.
42:39
At the end of the day, the free market has a really good track record of picking the winners and losers.
43:33
I'll give you the last word.
