So what was your thinking going into this? Why these two specifically?

Yeah, I mean, it kind of comes back to the night before, right? Kyle leaves the game, and Genevieve and I had both voted Kyle out, unhappy that Kyle was leaving, kind of just going with the majority, but knowing that we were...

dying on numbers.

And so my calculation that night and that next day immediately became like, how can we find a third which can make a majority? And I felt like the best two relationships that we had were me personally, my relationship with Andy and Genevieve's relationship with Teenie.

Those were sort of like side duos that maybe not even game duos, more just like personal duos that I felt like existed within this group of seven.

And so there was kind of this struggle back and forth between Genevieve and I, where we both saw our path forward a little bit differently.

I didn't trust Teenie.

I said the same thing and then he believed it.

Yeah, 100%.

Uh, yeah, boss is a great example as well.

Um, and so I think you're gonna hit the beach a- and one thing that's apparent is that you can do all the planning in the world that you want.

You can strategize.

You can think of, "This is who I wanna play with," yada, yada, yada.

But you very much have to channel a version of yourself that that's, best fits in with this initial group, whatever that vibe is.

Yeah.

Right

...

even, even if it's not to Anaya, in front of her, to her face, like you are comfortable talking about her, talking that way when you're on TV, regardless if you know that she's watching because the producers are showing your whole, like, heart rate challenge or whatever to the girls in the villa.

You are still comfortable with doing that for everybody in America, the billion people that are watching Love Island this season, to watch, and that should tell you a lot about him.

I, I do agree, Kyle.

I think you started to see this, uh, like, darkness kinda come out of Casey once he got to Casa, where he just started becoming A, a lot more personality and not in a good way.

He got you too.

It's...

Right.

And it's like- Yeah ... just because he's deceptive, and this is, like, obviously the nuance that the honor integrity folk don't see or can't justify in their own brains is, like, just because he's deceptive to the other alliance- Yes ... doesn't, doesn't mean he's not a good ally to have.

Rick is an ally- Right ... you absolutely wanna have.

He's- Right, 100%, yeah ... he's clever, he's creative, he's a shield, he's loyal.

He's everything you could possibly want in an ally, but there's a lot of people that get scared off by the theatrics and, uh- Mm-hmm ... and can't get over that.

But, you know, we see this throughout Survivor history.

There's actually quite a few people, um, I know it's a completely [laughs] separate conversation, we don't need to give this guy any airtime, but, like, uh, uh, Gabe from my season has a theory that Russell Hantz is actually one of the most loyal players the show has ever seen.

[laughs]

Right

... of whether or not, like, regardless of, hey, was it wrong to necessarily keep things secret, the one thing was clear is that publicly Rick is perceived as a schemer.

Rick is perceived as this guy that's making all these moves.

And by proxy, he's p- perceived as a huge jury threat.

And now you have, a little too early in the game at nine, eight, seven, made yourself the guy that is at the very top of the chopping block totem pole.

And he did this in e- in Edge of Extinction, and goes on this great run with immunity challenges and idols, and almost hits the one-outer to win the game.

And he does do it again here, where you go from being in a great-Maybe like solidified position within an alliance that has legs to go far, to then being a little bit loud to make yourself the center of attention, and oftentimes being the center of attention just means that you're the easy vote out for everybody else in the game looking to advance themselves.
