How
1:10
young were you? I was four years old.
1:12
And I wish I could tell you more about my diagnosis story, but I was too young to remember and I slept since then.
1:17
But what I can tell you is apparently, according to my parents, I was showing the classic symptoms, which entail repetitive interest, restricted behaviors.
1:27
If you said my name several times, I wouldn't respond.
1:30
And I never looked in the camera.
1:32
And that shows in pictures too while I was traveling at a young age.

21:13
If anything, where do you see yourself heading in the next few years? What would you like to do? Or if anything, do you want to change anything or do something? Well,
3:50
But to start out, Sam, I'd like to ask you, what is your moment of impact?
3:58
Uh, the moment of impact is not really a moment as it's a buildup to a moment.
4:05
So being diagnosed with autism, you can imagine in school I dealt with the bullying, exclusion, the stereotypes that you can all imagine.
4:13
And I think the kicker why is I gave in by people pleasing, by doing what people wanted me to do, saying, "Yes, ma'am.
4:23
Yes, sir," all the time.
4:25
Well, after 15 years of seeing this isn't working, I'm getting really mad right now because I'm not having any friends.
4:35
I'm not invited to Halloween parties like some of my friends are.
9:12
What advice do you have for other people that are struggling right now and feel like they haven't found their friend group yet?
0:11
Do you want to tell listeners a little bit more about yourself, where you're from?
0:13
Well, I suppose I do.
0:15
So what I do is I run a podcast called Autism Rocks and Rolls.
0:19
And first of all, my name is Sam Mitchell from America.
0:21
But anyway, I run a podcast called Autism Rocks and Rolls.
0:24
It's a podcast about autism and how we cope with daily struggles that you may or may not understand.
0:32
Through the podcast, it's grown so much.
