So this romanticization of our people as if we are not capable of harming others, let alone ourselves, we need to stop doing that.

If you want to start to heal, you have to acknowledge both the harm that was caused to you, but harm that you caused to others.

And I think one of the biggest issues I see between our communities is that we are so quick to point out how the other side harmed us, but we're not as quick or refuse to acknowledge the harm that we have caused to others.

And I think part of it is when you have two communities that have been hurt so much, it is really difficult to have those conversations because as a way of protection, you have to say that, no, no, no, I am the one that has been wronged here.
