Were you involved in booking for the band, or are you still, I'm guessing? Was that something that you had started doing within your role in Shred Kelly?

Sage McBrideGUEST
So when we first started Shred Kelly, we were playing locally, and things were going really well in our local supportive music scene, and so we were like, "We've gotta take this show on the road." But of course, didn't have a booking agent or know anything about booking, and we tackled our tour, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone now.

Sage McBrideGUEST
We decided that we were gonna go on a full cross Canada tour from Hawaii to Newfoundland.

Sage McBrideGUEST
It was very ambitious, and, uh, highly not recommended for [laughs] anyone starting out touring to go your first tour that far.

Sage McBrideGUEST
So we lost a lot of money, but a lot of us, we were all from different parts of Canada, so we had a lot of friends and family in places, and we were, you know, at the stage of touring where you're happy just to throw a tent in the back of the van and camp on the side of the road as much as possible, so, and bring, like, a cook stove and cook on the side of the road and do all the things just to make touring viable.

When you say that you're trying to crack the code, now in hindsight, looking back, do you think that there was a code that you cracked or was it just kind of persistence of keeping on trying?
