It's hard for developers, right, to do projects when they don't know the timeframe, right?
14:35
Well, I I don't want to oversimplify it, but I think transparency is one big factor.
14:42
There's no reason for every single individual solar application in the queue, whether it's for a large utility scale or rooftop, needs to go through an individual customized permitting analysis or interconnection analysis.
14:59
These should be large, generic studies that include a range of possibilities and factors.
15:06
And we can fit big groups in into the queue, get them in place and developing very quickly.
15:12
This is the way that most do it.
15:13
Group studies of what's called the hosting capacity of the various circuits and lines that they're being hooked up to.

26:23
Yeah.
21:45
What countries are really leading the way?
21:48
Well, I've mentioned Germany several times.
21:49
Germany was one of the global leaders in adapting to this.
21:53
And they saw it not just as an energy policy, but as industrial policy.
21:56
They wanted to put a lot of out-of-work East German blue-collar laborer folks to work.

25:48
How do you overcome from the federal government that kind of narrative about clean energy, about solar energy, about renewable energy?

29:51
That's
29:51
how they make their money.
29:53
And so they are going to point to the need for the resources that they see profiting them the most.
30:02
That's what they're going to do.
30:03
Well, historically, as it turns out, that is the investments in transmission lines, that is the investments in... large central peaker plants, even though they don't own those plants themselves, building the resources needed to deliver the power from those plants is how they make their profits.
30:30
It turns out that many of these utilities and not just PG&E, but many utilities across the country are owned by companies which have upstream fossil extraction interests.
30:40
Well, it's in their interest then to continue to rely on fossil fuels.
