Why is cortisol so important to check, and then why did- do you even look for MPO when most doctors don't?
6:24
Well, cortisol, in my opinion ...
6:26
So I've been in practice, uh, for over a decade, and cortisol is one of those markers that is prevalent in pretty much everybody and relevant in pretty much everybody, because we are just in a constant state of stress and overload in the environment that we currently live in.
6:41
Everything from our jobs to our families to how we're being exposed to blue light, how our food is no longer nutritious.
6:47
All of those things cause stress on our bodies.
6:50
That stress can be physical, mental, emotional, chemical, all of it.
6:54
When cortisol responds in the body, it's supposed to be short-lived, short-term, enough for us to get out of a dangerous situation to activate that fight or flight.
