So just to continue on the theme of candidates, who are the candidates represented by the parties who put someone forward? And also, if you could explain when the one candidate gets elected, what is their role on council?
9:38
Okay, so I can speak to the first half of that question about the candidates.
9:42
So I was actually watching the mayoral debate that they did a couple days ago, and they had brought on the five candidates, Colleen Hardwick, Ken Sim, Pete Fry, Karim Alam, and Rebecca Bly, to all talk about their platforms and what they stand for.
9:56
so i think what stood out to me immediately from that debate was how all four of the parties that aren't the incumbent abc are centering their platform around you know opposing abc which is pretty standard in elections i think the the party that isn't the incumbent you know can get away with just blaming everything on the incumbent party what stood out to me the other thing was that pete fry kind of went his own way from the other three uh other parties he kind of spoke about how the city isn't in shambles under ABC and the city is growing and they just need someone new to kind of step up and help the youth, help the younger generation.
10:33
Whereas I believe Hardwick and Alam and Lai were talking about how, you know, ABC has ruined the city over the past couple of years and how they are going to be the one to fix it.
10:43
So that stood out to me, I think.

7 MINS LATER

17:41
i think if there's a reason that this is not like a 50 45 or like 50 49 kind of thing like we've seen in other places is because there's three other candidates
17:50
Yeah, so the three other candidates, Hardwick, Bly, and Alam, I think their platforms are pretty similar, like I was saying previously, in the sense that they're all kind of pitching themselves against ABC.
