But from what I'm hearing, there's an intensity about this, which is, must, must be tough after a summer off.

Oh, absolutely.

Yeah.

Pre-season is, um, a lot of running, a lot of hard work, but, you know, after we've had a break, I think we're, we're ready to do that.

That's what, you know, that's what we're, we're made for, um, as athletes.

And, yeah, the, the new manager's extremely intense with every single thing we do.

Um, even day before the game, you know, the, the sessions are extremely intense and, yeah, we're building that fitness and it's been a, a fantastic, you know, c- first couple of weeks.

Yeah.

So we'd gone out on this patrol

and one of the lads, fucking tragic, like he'd been shot through both his calves, but he'd stayed on tour because he didn't want to leave the lads.

Got on this patrol, Grand National in, and we were bollocksed.

And we got into this PB, and I'd been on two, on two off.

I'd come straight off being on, onto the patrol.

Just lay down, literally just got my roll mat out, and I thought, I'm going to get a couple of hours sleep, and the whole world erupted.

But we were in a compound, and Paulette had stepped on this IED in the compound.

in then.
