Well, yeah, no, it's, well, when we started in, so we, we technically started in Duluth, Minnesota more specifically.

And the first year that I was running Bitter in Our Backyard, our focus was actually on young professionals and college kids.

Like how could we be a good compliment to other existing associations? Like there's Mining Minnesota in Minnesota.

There's the Iron Mining Association.

There's a couple of other economic development firms.

And for your viewers reference, we've been mining taconite and iron ore for the last, 140 years.

What would you say is the biggest hurdle across the board, whether that's Minnesota, Idaho? Where do you see the biggest hurdle so far still in mining and moving things ahead in the U.S.?

what uh you know for our listeners can you kind of give us a in a nutshell just exactly what he's done and how that changes everything at least for now and uh you know so everybody's a little more educated up here

Yeah, absolutely.

So Governor Walz essentially issued an executive order that would not have Minnesota state agencies recognize any type of permitting for certain copper, nickel or non-ferrous mining projects.

And I believe it includes ferrous too in terms of iron mining in the Rainier River watershed in the area outside of the Boundary Waters and the buffer zone.

So as you recall, Congressman Stauber was able to get some legislation passed earlier this spring called the CRA, the Congressional Review Act.

which allows for projects to go through a permitting process, like, say, at Twin Metals, when previously there was a mining moratorium enacted by the previous administration.

And what Governor Walz is doing, essentially, is telling the agencies, don't issue permits.
