But in the example where we may, let's say we're on the end of a defeat tonight, is that a case of just banning down hatches, getting onto domestic and trying, you know, catch hearts, overtake them and hopefully, you know, get some domestic success this year?
23:11
Yeah, I mean, it's sad to say that, but I mean, we always want Celtic to do as well in every competition to progress as far as they can, but...
23:23
It is interesting because we've said a lot on this podcast, you know, if you build a team for Europe, the domestic form will come.
23:31
And then I started scratching my head and thinking about, you know, Helicopter Sunday and all the examples where we had great European seasons and couldn't get that over the line in the league.
23:44
um and same same thing applies to the the other ones across the city uh they've had great european runs in terrible domestic form so um but where we are now we're being in the b competition i think i think it's going to be really telling if we go from a team that almost made it over the line with bayern munich to then not qualifying out of the Europa League group.
24:11
The descent to that in such a rapid time frame is something that I have not seen in my Celtic sporting days, and I started getting into Celtic in the Wim Jansen days.
24:28
I don't want to say don't prioritize Europe.
27:09
That's quite worrying for a club like Celtic with its European history and certainly from a support standpoint for the for the the aspirations that we have uh to to continue to progress in europe and i think when you look at last season's evidence as you say and i know people get fed up that we keep going back to bayern munich but you have to understand we were minutes away from what would have been a very very significant result whether people believe that we've gone to to you know we've gone beyond we would have won it but the point is that we got to that precipice that surely ryan is where you set your benchmark that's surely where you draw the line and say okay we've got there this season How can we not build on that? Why is the strategy not around building on that? And look, again, I'm not going to go into the failure of recruitment, but for someone who is certainly in their own mind talking about or representing Celtic in their statement, that's a worrying lack of ambition, is it not?
