good evening council i'm going to kind of run through our what we did with the transition plan real quick and then be available for any questions that you might have so we were hired by the city to help develop this plan there's a couple reasons why the city wanted to develop this plan first of all it's the right thing to do you know the The city has a commitment to provide equitable access to all of its residents.

And the second reason we have up there is that it's a federal mandate.

The ADA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, was passed in 1991 Part of that act requires a transition plan and requires communities to be compliant to provide accessible facilities.

The plan that we developed has a right of way focus, meaning basically the pedestrian facilities within the city.

An ADA transition plan needs to cover many facets of what the city does.

But during this first phase, we concentrated on the right of way.

And so this was like on a Thursday, and I spent Friday and the weekend hustling, trying to, like pitching a whole bunch of investors, but I had no...

I was be- being preempted, so I had no data room or deck or anything that you would need to do a fund raise.

And I think the word must have got back to this investor 'cause I, he ghosted me.

I basically never talked to him again.

I know the value of in-person, but I don't want a revolt when I say I'm sorry." What advice would you have to them?

How, how far are gonna, are people gonna take, like, the larping of, like, another culture? Like, people wanna dress poor, they should start dressing like...

They should take it even further.

Where I live...

I'm so glad I never grew up in, like, a subur- or I was never, like, the only...

I always grew up around all Black or all Hispanic-

Can you explain what that is and what the impact on that has been?

Yeah, so that's, that's actually been one of the biggest impacts so far.

So the de minimis exemption says that anything imported into the country that's less than $800 in value can be imported duty-free as long as that item is being sent all the way to the final consumer, to your, to your house.

Uh, and so that was ended on May 2nd for goods from China.

And that's a huge impact.

There's almost...... four million packages per day being imported and dim- under the de minimis exemption.

70% of those are coming from China.

Wh- where are we in your view in, of the trajectory of that asteroid? Is it coming? Has it hit? Is it about to hit?

Where are we right now when it comes to shipping, especially in China?

Yeah, so Flexport's one of the largest logistics companies in the United States and the world, really, and what we've seen since the tariffs, since April 9th, is a 60% decline in bookings.

That's not a Flexport number.

That's, uh, industry-wide for ocean freight.

Now, a booking is, you place a booking about three weeks before the container leaves China.

Uh, and then it arrives, of course, in the US about a month after that.

So, this all started about three weeks ago.

What advice would you tell them and then on a timeline? How quickly do they need to bring these levels down?

What are you seeing now that they've been actually announced?

So we, Flexport's...

We're one of the largest customs brokers in the United States, so helping comp- these companies deal with this is, like, what we do every day.

We obviously are very worried about our customer base.... and how they're going to adapt to this and push through it.

So on Thursday, Friday last week, we did a call-down.

We called as many customers as we could and just asked them what they're doing, what their plan is, what bookings are coming through, what, what we should expect.

And what we found is that 28% of the companies that we got a hold of told us that they're pausing all ocean freight bookings.
