Ryan Lynch

3:16
How do you feel the consumer is operating and will between now and the end of the year?
3:23
Yeah, so what we're seeing, there's still good earnings.
3:25
Forward guidance, you just mentioned in the previous segment with Target, Home Depot, Lowe's.
3:31
There's some, I would say, muted guidance moving forward.
3:34
There's still some skepticism.
3:36
We've seen the consumer weakening a little bit, which is part of the reason why we wanted recuts or at least some sort of solution on the rate side as well, just to be accommodative and really helping stimulate this economy.
3:46
So while some people are holding off on larger purchases, I think that the consumer is still in a decent spot.
4:56
What do you recommend to folks?
13:18
And one point five billion dollars is a lot of money to go to a venue that is already successful.
13:24
yeah and um they said as much during the meeting like look they're looking at 750 million dollars of tourist development tax which is the money raised by people who stay in the area uh and their hope is that even if they don't get the full amount they're asking for they're still able to start some of the projects relatively quickly they spoke about this as a way to get things started right So they said any of those projects that they mentioned are shovel ready and able to go at a moment's notice.
13:53
And obviously, you know, there's still questions of how much funding is actually available to give them.
13:59
You know, we'll find that out next week.
14:01
But it's a matter of, OK, you're competing with all these different things for funding.
14:05
You know, do you end up getting a piece of the pie or do you end up having to wait for the next time or for philanthropic dollars to kind of fill in the need there?
14:14
Do you think it takes away from other arts organizations that could use just a fraction of that money?
14:20
I don't necessarily think that.
2:16
Let's, uh, let's go to Ryan Lynch of Perils of Princess fame.
2:19
Yeah, I'm playing the role of Brain Girl.
2:23
Um, my, my w- first quality is that I am an artist, a highly skilled visual artist.
2:30
Uh, my second quality is that I'm a game gourmand, that, uh, I describe adventures like food.
2:36
And then my foible is that I have something under my hat.

26 MINS LATER

28:43
[laughs]
28:45
No, no...
28:46
Yeah, no texture.
106:20
That's not going to be the score at Royal Birkenau.
106:25
Probably unlikely.
106:26
You definitely have to adapt.
106:28
And these elite guys will adapt pretty quickly.
106:31
But given how firm it's going to be, judging how much your ball is going to release becomes a real skill.
106:39
And it's something that needs to be practiced.
106:41
They'll have some practice rounds this week, but we'll see a lot of golf balls sort of bouncing short of the greens, particularly if guys miss the fairways.
108:00
Some say that he's so confident of actually, he believes he genuinely is a contender.
2:39
That's not gonna be the score at Royal Birkdale.
2:42
[laughs] Uh, probably unlikely.
2:45
It, it, you definitely have to adapt, uh, and these elite guys will adapt pretty quickly.
2:50
But, um, given, uh, how firm it's gonna be, judging how much a ball is gonna release becomes a real skill.
2:58
Uh, and it's something that needs to be practiced.
3:00
They'll have some practice rounds this week, but we'll see a lot of golf balls sort of bouncing short of the greens, particularly if guys miss the fairways.
3:08
So it's a very fair test for Royal Birkdale.
4:22
He believes he genuinely is a contender.
QHOST
30:21
How about you, Lynchy?
30:22
Uh, my storyline's a little different.
30:23
My, my storyline is that it, it has to do with this magnificent property.
30:29
Um, but time and again, this, this golf course has shown to be one of the most punishing venues at the toughest major in golf, okay? And it, it feels like the acknowledgement of the equipment rollback, which was what I was alluding to before, is kind of gaining a little bit of momentum, um, within the players and, and outside.
30:47
We've heard the USGA, we've, we've heard, um, Fred Ridley come out earlier in the year and kind of acknowledge that this is beginning to, to get it out of hand.
30:56
Uh, so my question and storyline this week is, if we get a winning score of ...
31:01
And I know, look, score may not matter, but if we get a winning score of seven, eight, nine under par, does this event finally highlight what is clearly required on the men's side of the professional game to keep venues like this intact? We need to preserve venues like this.

37 MINS LATER

QHOST
68:26
[laughs]
68:55
Yeah, I
68:56
mean, it's always about us.
68:56
You know, we might have to switch our approach a little bit, depending on the teams that we're playing.
69:00
But, you know, we just go out and we believe in each other.
69:03
And we know that all the way down, all the way through our bullpen, that we're very capable.
69:07
How have you guys had to shift your approach this season just based on anything that's gone down? Yeah, I mean, certain individual guys have maybe decided to throw less of a certain pitch or more or, you know, work in different spots of the zone.
69:17
But in general, we just try to be ourselves and just go out each week with confidence regardless of how, you
70:00
What's been the conversations that he's had with you guys and some of the guys who maybe haven't been here before?
