the season let's just jump right into it how about um introduce yourself to me the listeners a little bit about who you are and how you got into hunting and a little bit of your background because i i the last it looks like 2024 and 25 is when you you shot to your biggest buck on on yeah anyway

yeah no that's that's definitely true and it has a lot to do with just life in general and how everything is finally starting to work out.

But yeah, we can get into that.

Yeah.

But, uh, I'm Ryan and I'm from like Southwestern Pennsylvania.

And, uh, I feel like I'm your typical PA hunter.

I couldn't start until, you know, the age of 12, which is where it used to be.

It's like, are you going to, which one are you going to, are you just going to go with it? Like what's, what's.

Yeah

... uh, that was the 13th that I killed that deer.

I sat up in the morning on the edge of that old cut.

It's probably like a 15-year-old cut at this point, so it's getting pretty grown up, but there's still no trees to hang in in there, and just wasn't feeling it.

Like I, I like to trust my gut in a lot of these opport... like a lot of these chances that I've been getting and wasn't feeling it, so I climbed down, and the previous week I jumped a doe out of that, that old cut, so I knew that the doe were still holding up in there.

And there, I like to target these, they're drainages in between like these finger ridges, and on the other side of the cut where I hunted that morning, there was one that I was planning on going midday and setting up because I've had a lot of, uh, historical pictures and encounters with deer moving midday through that.

It's, there's a newer cut that they kind of come out of this old cut and travel through midday, so I was gonna work straight through this cut and work to that drainage on the other side.And I got to a new section in the center of this old cut that was just tore up year after year with just massive rubs, and there was even a big scrape.
