So what did you do? I want a person who's listening now to hear you and be like, okay, how could I find my first Airbnb client to manage and start this business off? So what did you do?

Yeah, I can give you essentially exactly if they're like, hey, I'm at zero and I want my first property under management in 14 days, I'll give you what I would do and what I did.

So the first thing is you got to figure out what are you talking about? You can't just go to an owner and be like, hey, I want to manage your property.

And they're like, all right, so how does that work? And you have no idea.

So first, understand the service that you offer as a Airbnb property manager.

So I mentioned a few things.

Is that nationwide in the industry now you think, or is it just unique to your store here in Springfield?

I would say it's pretty unique to us, um, and other specialty toy stores like us.

Um, from a big box perspective, they have been trying to go more in the educational direction, but a lot of times they'll pull back, um, and go back to just kind of the, the collectibles and that type of thing.

How do you explan- plan to expand? What are you gonna do?

So a few things.

Uh, we want to continue to expand our birthday bins, but we're also going to create a personalization station.

So we're working on embroidery.

Um, there's even ...

Sure.

Um, we actually went to New York Toy Fair this year, and they had two, uh, conference halls that were 300,000 square feet each just filled with different toys from around the world.

So there are so many options out there.

It is difficult to carry everything.

Um, we would be the size of two Walmarts, uh, to be able to carry what they just had at that, that show.

Uh, so we, we try to do as wide a variety as we can in the little spot that we've got.

Well, I'm sure

But what, what made you say, "You know what? I wanna jump into this"? And what was your first, uh, first thing you did to get into here?

Yeah, sure.

First thing is I was sick of a corporate job.

I really was not feeling like I could hit any goals I set for myself, so I was doing reflecting.

I was figuring out, what do I want my life to look like in three, five, 10 years? And once I figured out what I want that life to look like, there's a financial number that's attached to that.

And when I was looking at the trajectory of my corporate job three, five, 10 years from the time I was doing my goal ref- setting or reflection, I wasn't gonna be able to hit any of those goals.

So I realized I had to take some control back into my life, into my business, into my income.

What made you decide, "I think I wanna partner with somebody else"?
