Players who have played for the Kiwis can now play for Queensland or New South Wales, provided, of course, they meet the existing criteria to play Origin.

Do you think this is a good move? I just think it's modernising where the game is.

I mean, you get a lot of players, young Polynesian players and young Kiwi players who relocated to Australia prior to 13 years of age.

And they do feel affinity to their country, but they also feel an affinity to the state.

And it was hard for a lot of players having to choose, especially New Zealand players, because obviously we're the Tier 1 and Tier 2 nations.

And I think we've seen with... state of origin players going back and playing for Tonga and Samoa.

I think you've seen those countries definitely improve on the world stage.

And just on the growth of the game, Ryan, how much has it grown, you know, compared to, you know, when you were in the heart of your career, say 10 years ago or so?

Are you for the expansion of the Great Game of Rugby League to get around the globe and share the Great Game of Rugby League?

Certainly.

I think it's such a fantastic product.

It's such a great TV product, especially.

And you can only support something on TV if you've seen it live and got a great appreciation for it.

And look, I think it's such a great product to be able to take.

And the more avenues that we can get involved, I think is only going to be better.

What would success look like for this Origin game in 2027? Is it purely about crowd numbers? Is it long-term impact on the sport here? What is it about the success of this event?

to be able to take and the more avenues that we we can get involved i think is only going to be better for the game in the long run and um look it's it's it's it's something that that i think rugby league has probably been a bit sort of insulin prior to the arrival of um peter volandes and seeing his ambition for the game um so look i've i've been really excited with what rugby league's doing and hopefully this will push to make the international game bigger
