I'd love to hear a little bit about your thought process and your songwriting process and creation of that EP.

Yeah, it's a really interesting one, honestly, because there was an original version that I put out in 2023 where I had just done like four of the songs were on this version of the project.

And it was, I just had done everything in my room.

I had produced everything.

I hadn't gone to music school or anything, so I didn't know anything about recording or production or anything.

I was just kind of doing what I wanted.

And the songs at the time took on a very like maximalist feel.

Were there some songs that you changed more than others? Or were there any songs that you feel like stayed a lot more similar to their original form?

[laughs]

The, the Plastic Pollution Reduction Act was passed in, uh, 2021, and that law does have teeth, and it really does three things.

It phases out single-use, uh, expanded polystyrene foam foodware, sometimes referred to as the trademarked Styrofoam.

Um, it implemented the single-use bag changes, phasing out single-use plastic bags at large retailers, and charging a fee for paper bags.

And then what Emily mentioned, overturning preemption, which was a s- state law that told local municipalities that you cannot ban plastics or any other really material.
