How emotional was it to watch the Brewers finally win it all?
7:53
Yeah, it was very emotional.
7:54
I mean, it meant so much, obviously, to so many people.
7:58
I've said it many times, but there is no fan base in professional sports who is more deserving of a championship than the Milwaukee Brewers fans.
8:05
You know, they show up, they support us, they're passionate, they're knowledgeable, they show up on the road.
8:09
I'm sure you guys were watching the game.
8:11
I mean, it was 50%, 60%, you know, Brewer fans in the stands, and they do that consistently.
9:45
What was it like to share that moment with Yount? And what did you two say to each other?
2:27
that,
2:28
you know, they created a unique culture.
2:30
You know, obviously the word relentless is used consistently, and it really was a relentless pursuit of greatness.
2:37
You know, you could see the way that they played for each other and not just with each other.
2:42
You could see how much they cared about each other.
2:43
You could see this just relentless pursuit of winning pitch to pitch, you know, out to out, inning to inning, day to day, game to game.
2:52
They are the personification of greatness, the greatest Milwaukee Brewers team of all time.
3:19
What was it like to share that moment with Yount? And what did you two say to each other?
3:56
But guys in the locker room, are they really looking to see what the Brewers add to help get them over the hump? How does this impact the locker room on a trade deadline day?
4:03
Well, everybody pays attention, right? I mean, I think everybody has MLB Network on today.
4:07
They're refreshing MLB trade rumors or whoever is breaking the trade news on Twitter.
4:13
Yes, yes and yes.
4:16
But at the same time, you want to be respectful of the guys who are in the locker room.
4:19
You know that the front office and organization does everything in their power to try to acquire the right pieces while balancing present needs versus the importance of keeping some of these prospects who are going to be impactful for the next five or six years.
4:33
And then you want to be cautious of the way that you approach it because you don't know who you're going to get.
5:49
What's your message as a hitter and to the fans as to why they could be more successful this year without the big power bat?
30:10
How much of that gamesmanship can you play as a batter against a pitcher who seemingly is in a little bit more control?
30:19
Yeah, that's a good question.
30:20
I think everybody kind of approaches it differently.
30:22
I think with a guy like Miz, you have to stay on the fastball or you have no chance.
30:27
And so you have to be on time for the fastball.
30:29
You have to think fastball down the middle because that's the best chance to get the barrel to it.
30:34
Like if I'm looking for the fastball down and away on the corner, I'm not going to do any damage with that pitch anyways.
31:34
Can you just talk a little bit about your experience in a home run derby here for everybody?
17:31
He's going to be part of the Brewers alumni game, which is coming up later this month at American Family Field.
17:37
You've got the alumni game coming up.
17:39
What kind of shape do you feel like you're in? Are you ready to go? I think I'm in elite physical shape.
17:42
Elite? Baseball specific, not so much.
17:44
I haven't swung a bat since the home run derby last year, so probably need to swing the bat a little bit, but I'm looking forward to it.
17:51
Last year was so much fun, far exceeded my expectations just with the energy and the ballpark.
17:56
And I know we got some good banter and good group text going, so I know a lot of the guys are looking forward to it.
18:01
Amongst your teammates, who is most likely to take it way too seriously?
4:06
... how do you maintain that focus down the stretch in a season like that?
4:10
Well, I, I love the challenge and the intensity of having to show up every day and be at your best.
4:14
Um, I'd always embraced kinda the challenge of, of trying to be at my best when it mattered most.
4:19
And so I loved playing September games.
4:21
It felt meaningful and significant as a team.
4:24
Uh, and oftentimes, you know, almost every year now, the MVP comes from a winning team, so it was a result of being on a good team with great teammates.
4:31
Prince had an incredible year that year.

6 MINS LATER

10:51
Right.
4:44
Do you expect Matt Arnold to maybe go outside a little bit of his comfort zone and maybe make something bigger happen? I'm not talking Scooble or just make something happen to give a jolt to this team.
5:00
I mean, I would make an argument that getting Woodruff back is as big an acquisition as he gets.
5:04
You know, as well as he threw the ball the other day.
5:06
I always think about how do your frontline starters line up with the best pitchers on the teams you're likely to face in the postseason.
5:13
And if you look at our front three right now with Woodruff back, you can keep him healthy, throw in the ball the way that we know he's capable of.
5:20
That is a dominant front three in the rotation that would match up with any you know, front three in a postseason series.
5:27
So, you know, they're always trying to improve the team.
8:57
Is it R&D? Is it the spreadsheet nerds? Or is it the coaching and development? Like, what is that?

Are we just watching what we're just going to know for as long as he's pitching? This is insane.
6:34
I mean, he's pitching at a level where he almost sets himself up that people have unrealistic expectations.
6:41
He's throwing the ball right now as good as any pitcher has in the history of the sport.
6:46
So inevitably, there'll be some ebb and flow, some ups and downs.
6:49
I hope the fans don't take this for granted because what he's doing is just incredible.
6:54
no matter how great you are you're gonna go through periods of time where you're not at your very best but certainly it looks like he's taking a huge step forward it's so much fun to watch you know we're watching a guy really step into a true ace role who's throwing the baseball as well as anybody has ever so much fun to watch glad he's on our team and let's hope that he continues to be close to as good as he's been over the last couple months because at this level you It's a favorable matchup with him on our side regardless of who's on the other side.
7:24
He's that good.
7:41
How long do the Brewers ride this out before they have to make some type of move, whether it's calling somebody up or whether it's making a trade?
