I'm gonna, I'm gonna steer the ship"?

It took a very long time.

Like, I'm quite a kind of d- diffident person.

Like, I'm usually quite reluctant to take on new, [laughs] new responsibilities.

But I think there were so many examples for me where I had an idea and it required me sort of, yes, being at the helm, like sitting in that seat and, like, trying things.

And because I wasn't in that seat with my hand on, on the mouse or I, I didn't feel like quite i- in charge of the whole sound, you know, look, you know, that kind of bird's-eye view of the project, um, I, I didn't kinda pipe up and talk about a specific idea.

And so they're basically, like, I kept on seeing, like, just little, little moments where, like, uh, the, the song could've gone in a different direction or could've had a different sound or something, and it just didn't happen because I either stayed mute or, you know, just didn't feel it was my place sort of thing.

It makes you wanna hear it over and over to me.

Yeah, that's great.

Yeah, so one other thing probably worth looking into was the synths on this track, because there's a wider range of synths, both hardware and software that we use on this track than any other on the album.

And they kind of come together to make this lovely wash.

So I think the first thing I played on when we got to the studio was a, is it a Farfisa? Have you heard of? Yeah, that will do as a pronunciation.

Yeah, it's a classic keyboard.

Yeah, the first time I'd sort of properly used one and obviously it was massive from the 60s to the 80s really as the sort of standard organ.

And so yeah, I was playing You can hear there where the the timbre of the sound changes because obviously the keyboard was split so some of the chords have this dark sound and then it goes light there.
