Mm-hmm.
0:53
You know? And I, if I s- if I could pinpoint a common, a commonality amongst relationships that I see fall apart on these shows, it's that.
1:03
It's about going from being your partner's biggest cheerleader to being your partner's biggest critic.
1:08
[upbeat music]

8:12
That's true
8:12
... were Team Guillermo.
8:14
What do you have to say to all those people? He explains himself.
8:16
He explains his thinkings.
2:46
So what was that experience like?
2:48
I've always loved her since when I was in college is the first time I saw her.
2:53
I used to pretend that we were best friends and then we did become great friends.
2:57
To see her in my show, it was one of those moments of this full circle thing where it was our...
3:04
We're six episodes in, and we've been working so hard.
3:08
And, like, you know, when you work this hard, it's kind of very randomly you get to come up and, like, sort of go, oh, my gosh, look at what we've done.
3:15
Look at what we've done.
3:53
Now, how did this all start, though? Was this just Ross the intern on The Tonight Show? Where did it all begin?
9:40
Take a listen.
9:41
When I was 13 years old, when you were born, I remember being gay and in a farm town up in Washington State and not knowing a single gay person, not seeing anyone gay on television that was openly gay, no storylines, no people.
9:56
And I remember thinking to myself, Truly meaning this.
10:00
Thinking, can I grow up? Because I didn't know if it was possible.
10:08
Because what did a gay grown-up look like? What did they act like? What did they sound like? What did they do? I had no idea.
10:16
And no way to see it.
10:18
There was no internet.
10:48
And so, you know, again, different, but similar in that if you're a gay person who doesn't grow up with any sense of what it means to be a gay man, then where does that come from and how do you form that?
26:10
Yeah.
26:10
With a single life, you think, "Oh, how fun and frivolous," and they'll go out and have martinis and cosmos and how fun and maybe there'll be someone cute, right? It was, um, I don't know, but I loved it.
26:19
I loved it because I think so many people can relate to m- making mistakes when you're younger or having secrets, having skeletons in your closet and, and having to sort of like atone for them.
26:31
And I thought it was...
26:33
It, it hit something we hadn't really seen on 90 Day before.
26:37
I, and, and I think that's what's great.
26:39
As we, we ask these people to be so vulnerable and to share themselves with us, and they get a lot of judgment and a lot of hate and all that stuff.

12 MINS LATER

39:06
... do you think you're gonna be able to satisfy the 90 Day, uh, audience here?
39:15
Um, I just wanna kinda hear your opinion of it and, um, what you think's going on with, with that in Hollywood, and are some people taking it too far?
39:24
Okay.
39:24
Well, okay, I have so many thoughts, and I've never, ever t- really talked about, no one's ever asked me about this.
39:28
This is what's great about you, Heather, is you go there.
39:31
All right, let's go there.
39:31
So my health journey started in 2020 after my mom died, and I was like, the b- biggest gift I could give her is to get my own shit together so I can stick around on this planet for as long as possible.
39:41
So that was my, my why.

16 MINS LATER

55:51
Yeah.
16:17
To care about something means, or to be nervous about something means that you do care about it.
16:21
Exactly.
16:22
And that it's okay to be nervous, and it's okay to take it seriously, and that, you know, you can have an important role no matter what age you are or whatever role you play in the family.
16:30
And it was great to write it.
16:31
And, you know, he's, like, a, a, really smart at what he does.
16:34
And so when we decided to write the children's book, I was like, "I know how to write a story.
16:37
Let's go." And I was missing out on so much.

18 MINS LATER

34:12
I'm like, "Oh, this is all just practice until I begin my real life."
15:52
Like practicing,
15:52
like, how do we walk? How do we do it? And the fact that they wanted to take it so seriously and wanted to contribute to the wedding in like a profound way, like they really wanted to do a good job for us.
16:03
We just thought that was like...
16:05
Kind of a great lesson for kids that no matter your age or the impact that you're allowed to have as a kid, you matter to your family in a big way.
16:12
And taking that role seriously, we thought was a great lesson in Wellington as an educator.
16:17
There's a lot of meat on this bone in terms of having a conversation with kids about their importance and their value.
19:51
You're
19:52
not faking it.
