How do we connect this to health care?
4:15
That is a great question.
4:16
So everyone is asking, we have declining contributions to this universal service fund.
4:23
How are we going to increase the flow of funds going into the USF? And one really prominent proposal that is extremely misguided, in our opinion, is expanding the reach of these taxes.
4:37
They call them contributions, but we call them taxes because that's exactly what they are, on tech services and broadband providers.
4:46
So everything in the digital domain, if these guys get their way, is gonna be subjected to this out-of-control taxation.
4:54
And that is going to hit healthcare therapeutic apps.

9 MINS LATER

14:06
Are there other areas that we need to be aware of in terms of, you know, that digital realm where likewise, you know, people are looking and seeing dollar signs rather than letting the market play out?
33:06
um the scenarios by which people are doing bad things to each other um when when truthfully i mean you know there's a lot to be said for uh data centers uh you guys even have a toolkit about it talk about that
33:21
sure yeah and as you say let's have a reasonable conversation because There is so much unreasonable back and forth and so much myth and misinformation being trotted out about data centers.
33:30
And the truth of the matter is we go, so, you know, TPA, we go state by state and we try for each state to look at the energy usage and the water usage for these data centers.
33:40
And we find for Virginia, for example, it's 1.4%, only 1.4% of total water consumption and less than 5% for electricity consumption.
33:50
Now, if you listen to some of these policy makers who are trying to sow division, who are trying to ban these data centers, you would think it would be 20% of water and 60% of electricity, but that is simply not the case.
34:02
And we're finding more or less consistent stats, state by state, It's just it's not consuming the natural resources that opponents of these projects claim that they do.
34:11
Well,
35:18
And I'm not even an economist.
33:18
Talk about that.
33:20
Sure.
33:20
Yeah.
33:21
And as you say, let's have a reasonable conversation because there is so much unreasonable back and forth and so much myth and misinformation being trotted out about data centers.
33:30
And the truth of the matter is we go.
33:32
So, you know, TPA, we go state by state and we try for each state to look at the energy usage and the water usage for these data centers.
33:40
And we find for Virginia, for example, it's one point four percent, only one point four percent of total water consumption and less than five percent for electricity consumption.
35:18
And I'm not even an economist.
