incredible parents and as I said like I could not possibly be more thankful for the work ethic that they instilled in me but also the idea that if there's something that you're really passionate about in life and this has been kind of my modus operandi my entire life and this is what I always try to instill into other musicians and people in general if there's something that you want to do just try it okay the worst possible thing that happens is you fall on your face the But you know what? Better to fail than live in regret, always wondering what if.
4:55
And I will be the first to admit, I'm not good at everything that I try.
4:58
Hell no.
4:59
Math terrifies me, for example.

So when it came to my dad and I having a serious heart to heart about me taking over his business, that was a solid hell no, because it was just overwhelming to me.

So what is your vision behind bringing the artists and the entrepreneurs and all of these speakers and everything together into these spots?
16:42
[laughs]
16:42
... and I don't ever sit down and force things to happen.
16:45
I hear melodies in my head.
16:47
It's like this gift from the universe or God or, or whatever you wanna call it, and I feel really blessed that I have this gift.
16:54
And honestly, the songwriting originally started as just sort of a form of catharsis for me to deal with my, my own emotions and my own, uh, struggles in life and challenges that I was going through as a way to just to feel, I guess, validated and heard and seen and all those things and, and getting those emotions out of my system so that I felt more normal, um, and I felt like I could cope.
17:16
Uh, and from there it kind of just snowballed because when I started performing live with my first band in my teenage years, I started, you know, sharing my, my art with the world, uh, you know, in a really raw and really genuine way, and I found that other people could relate to my lyrics too, and they made a difference for them.
17:33
So I was like, "Huh, there's something to this." And the more that I've been involved in the music scene and the more that I've been inspired by other musicians and likewise have tried to share a little bit of love and hope through my own work, I've really realized that music is kind of a, a universal language where it really breaks down barriers of difference between people.
