Rosarito

You know, that kind of thing.

So, you know, by the way, Roberto, right? Well, Robert Stacy says, thoughts on Rosarito.

I've never been there.

I got a friend that lives in Ensenada.

I'll tell you that.

But, you know, he lives up there.

But I mean, I don't know if Rosarito's

close by or not.

Obviously, it's mostly labor.

Um, and so I wasn't really sure how to scale that into millions and millions of dollars es- I was young a-as well, but, um, I was still kinda looking for some, "Maybe there's something else out there." So the second business I started, I was on vacation, and if you haven't heard the story, you can go listen to past podcasts, but I started a distribution company in the United States called United Wood Products, and then our mill, which was just a subcontractor, was in Rosarito, Mexico.

So he would produce all the product, uh, their team down there, we'd, they'd bring it across the border.

We'd show up down there at the border on the American side with a U-Haul or trucker trailer, pick up our goods and services, or our goods, distribute them in here in the US.

Uh, just disappeared with our money.

And so that was a little bit stressful.

Again, we had to adapt and figure it out, so then we went around Tijuana, which is a bigger city next to Rosarito, and found, uh, a mill there that was in production.

It was in, it was in business, running already.

Yeah, that was great.

And then we had been on stage with him a number of times in Rosarito.

He would come down and rock the stage there.

One time in San Diego, he was at the Hard Rock, and I was at an annual down there and heard he was there.

Andy remembers.

It seems like every time I take a day off or go somewhere, XL technology just has a huge rally, right? Luis it's in Rosarito I don't know the name of the pickleball place but somewhere in Rosarito I'm in some tournament my friend's like just come play in the tournament I'm like alright sure sounds like fun something to do picklebar with the cartel no I'll try to hopefully stay away from anything bad He just never know.

But that is your, on Friday is this PPI and this, sorry, Friday is the CPI and on Thursday we get the PPI.

The PPI obviously all over the place, month over month, but we had a pretty big contraction, then came back to zero.

Do something fun this weekend.

I'm not sure how I'm getting to San Diego, but maybe when I come through there, I don't want to drive to Rosarito.

I might take a bus or something, but we'll see.

And then the fucking coronavirus hit, [laughs] and so we've been...

As of like even right now, like I have... 'Cause I'm playing Postal Service, so I have the drummer, uh, Hecky from, he's in Rosarito.

I just wrote something this morning.

Played it for him on the phone.

So anyway, so when I saw the low cost of going to Mexico, when I saw that it was only a three or four day thing, and by the way, I was in Arizona at the time, so it wasn't even very far away, I jumped right on.

So I met my brother in San Diego, we spent the night with a few other dentists and we drove down to the Baja to this great little community called La Misión It's down in between Rosarito and Ensenada.

So we were able to drive.

We didn't even have to fly.

They have closed all this perimeter behind me.

There's also, you know, Fiscal General, the Republic units that they're ready for whatever circumstances or whatever, you know, combination of circumstances that they happen on these kind of locations that this is all secure, Mexicali secure, Tecate secure, Rosarito secure, all the municipal cities that they're next to the border towns of the United States of America.

They are in high alert for whatever can happen, Eric.
